Westline Aviation – Flight and Pilot Training – Northern Province

Basic Courses

All the basic courses apply to both fixed-wing and helicopter flight training. Please refer to the course information below.

Private Pilots License

Private Pilots License (PPL) is the initial training for any pilot. Westline Aviation‘s Private Pilots License is intensive and can be finished in one month, if planned well. Students at Westline Aviation can enjoy the services of professional, highly-qualified instruction under ideal flying conditions. Maximised flight time and efficiency is obtained by an unmanned airport.

Night Rating

After the initial Private Pilots License training, a student can go on to complete a Night Rating course. This course trains a pilot to fly at night. This course includes 10 hours of flying and 5 hours of instrument simulator training. At Westline Aviation, with it’s clear skies and uncluttered airspace combined with an accredited IF procedural simulator and excellent runway lighting, it is a time efficient rating that all centres in South Africa can utilise.

Commercial Pilots License

The Commercial Pilots License can take as little as 12 months to successfully complete,  depending on the student’s progress, which is where the journey into commercial flying starts.

Instrument (IF) Rating

The Instruments (IF) Rating forms part of the Commercial Pilots License, but can also be done separately. and the student learns how instruments in the aircraft operate.

Advanced Courses

    Dear Sir/Madam:

I would like to introduce myself as Ramilla, I am 19 years old female Malawian. A high school graduate. I would like to kindly apply for the scholarship from you to pursue my career. It has been my dream to fly for many years ever since a member from Westline Aviation came down to Malawi at my school (Saint Andrews International High School) to give a presentation on flying. Ever since than my passion and dream was to learn how to fly at your school. If I can recall he was a young fair man named Charlie. Education plays a significant role in my life.

Last year, I studied only some of theory work on Piloting (air law, Navigation, Met. Radio Tel. etc..) and obtained terrific scores in all the subjects. I felt that I found my destination. It is more advantageous for me to continue my studies in South Africa at Westline Aviation because of high quality of education in South Africa. Behind my achievements is a strong desire to learn.

Please give me your feedback so that I can write to you a more informative letter about myself, my achievements and why I am asking for a scholarship from you to learn at your school.

Thank you very much for taking your time to read my note. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours sincerely
    Ramilla.
