The Academy of Emergency Medical Training specialises in all aspects of pre-hospital, emergency care training, focusing primarily on paramedical training.

The Academy’s mission is to achieve the status of providing the best private emergency medical training in the country.

Their paramedic courses are learner centred, and the offer  introductory/orientation/bridging courses for the academically disadvantaged.

Their courses:

The Basic Ambulance Assistant course:
A 5 week full time course for the general public, emergency service personnel, nurses and allied healthcare management personnel -  skills to assess and manage a variety of medical problems and emergencies at a basic life support level.
Basic life support update and refresher:
A 3-day update aimed at personnel in industry, EMS, clinics and mine rescue
Basic Life support modular workshops:
One-day workshops offer Basic Life Support Modules.
MEDSPATCH – Emergency Medical Dispatch Course:
This is a 2 day course to provide Emergency Control Room Dispatchers with guidelines for dispatching the most appropriate medical response team to a medical emergency.
Ambulance Emergency Assistant Update and Refresher:
A 4 day update aimed at personnel in industry, EMS, clinics and mine rescue.
Advanced Life Support Modular Workshops:
One day workshops offering ILS and ALS modules aimed at registered ECP Intermediate personnel (AEA’s), nurses, doctors and paramedics who wish to revise their skills and knowledge.
Coach Learners and Assessors Course:
A 1 week SAQA accredited training programme to train coach and assessors for the medical and healthcare environment.
Moderators Course:
Three day SAQA accredited training programme to train registered assessors to moderate the assessment process for the medical and healthcare environment.
