Established in 1997, this college provides students with the skills and emotional resilience to support people on their quest for wholeness. in 2005 SACAP was provisionally registered with the Department of Education as a Private Higher Education Institution, and in 2006 to the Council of Higher Education (CHE) for accreditation of the Coaching qualifications.
Their training programs are flexible; you can register for either a Diploma or Certificate in the qualification of your choice. They offer two delivery modes to choose from – on campus and distance education.
You can mix and match how you undertake your program each semester to best fit in with your lifestyle which means that even if you re-locate, you can still continue with your studies.You can study single modules, individually as a short course, or in combination to achieve a qualification in counselling and communication – counselling plays a critical role in all aspects of society to a diverse population with complex needs and issues, and The College offers programs that can lead to careers in professional counselling.
For a single module through on campus study you attend a weekly 3-hour class and they recommend a minimum of three hours study per week.
Fieldwork is an integral part the Counselling, Coaching and Facilitation Qualifications at the college and provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in their chosen field. You identify the organisation you wish to work with and establish a placement to be undertaken on mutually agreed terms.
