Apart from the fact that the Durban Undersea Club is for people who have an interest in the ocean and it’s beaches, it also offers scuba diving and other water sports activities.

They have a large fully equipped clubhouse with a dive locker with a 450lt/min air and nitrox compressor and 12 sets of scuba equipment, a washing up area with rinse baths and showers as well as easy access to the beach.
The Durban Undersea Club has a rich diving heritage, and whether you are interested in exploring new reefs or wrecks, technical diving or fish identification, this club has as a wealth of members that are experts in their respective field of diving.
At present they offer the following courses:
Openwater diver – they offer the PADI certification which is internationally recognized and allows you to dive to depth of 18 meters.
Advanced Course – gives you a chance to gain practical diving experience under supervision in relaxed and friendly environment. This course starts when you attend the only lecture required on the course. There is no exam on the course.The course can be done over a minimum of three days, diving twice a day on two days and doing the navigation dive and lecture on another.
Otherwise you can do the course in your own time and convenience.

The fact that Arthur started his diving career in Port Elizabeth in 1972 tells you something of his illustrious experience with careers and job descriptions closely connected to the ocean.
He has had huge experience not only in the scuba diving world, but with ski boating, angling as well as serving on various committees etc.
He owns Mako Diving and all practical diving and skipper training is done at Sodwana bay and Rod’s Lodge.
His aim is to introduce non-divers to diving – to familiarise prospective divers with the requirements of further diving courses, an introduction to diving equipment as well as an appreciation for everything about this wonderful sport.

Scuba Shack actually has 2 Padi Dive centres in Cape town, one of them being a Five Star Instructor Development Dive Resort.
