PBS College has been in existence since the early 1980’s and specialises in credit management, financial management and skills-based training courses. Christine Jordaan, the principal of the college, has been managing the college since its inception. Together with her husband, Pieter, built the college to an international college offering a wide spectrum of academic as well as skills-based courses, both of them have been noted as icons of the Institute of Credit Management. Amongst their achievements and accreditations are the following:

1. They have also researched and published the following books through van Schaik Publishers:

• Applied Credit Management (Currently prescribed for Damelin learners)
• Supervision of Credit Management (Currently prescribed for Damelin learners)
• The Credit Law of South Africa
• How the new credit Act affects you.

2. They have the following accreditations & registrations:

• APPEDT (Association of Private Providers of Education and Training)
• In the process of registering with the Department of Higher Education
• In the process of registering with the SETA FASSET.
• Accredited by the Institute of Credit Management in South Africa and Africa
• Accreditation by the Academy of Management.

The Learner has different learning options:

1. PBS College (Pty) Ltd offers the following academic distance learning:

• Certificate in Credit Management
• Diploma in Credit Management
• Diploma in Financial Management. Examinations are set and moderated by the South African or the African Institute of Credit Management and the Academy of Management. Learners will receive full tutor support by email and telephone.
• Skills based distance learning courses (students are consistently evaluated by assignments to ensure they have assimilated the subject to a satisfactory degree and will be able to perform the tasks taught.)

2. Public/In-house courses are also presented by the College to companies for the benefit of their staff who receive a full and comprehensive set of reference notes in connection with the relevant subject matter.

All PBS College (Pty) Ltd lecturers are highly qualified in their respective fields and have presented various public and in-house training courses throughout South Africa, Namibia and neighbouring countries, to several large corporations and Government Institutions.
