Herbs have tremendous benefits and are highly valued in the treatment and prevention of disease. Plants have been used for medicinal purposes for ages and you will be able to make your own herbal teas,tinctures, creams and much more. The South African College of Herbal Medicine was established in 1989 and is registered as a Correspondence College. They offer introductory courses which will prepare you for future professional study -

The Herbalism and Nutrition Certificate course

  • the Aromatherapy Certificate course
  • the Medicinal Herb Growing Certificate

Their course for Herbalism and Nutrition Certificate cover -

  • the essential principals of herbs
  • herbal preparations, therapeutics, ailments and remedies
  • nutrition, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other super nutrients

The course consists of 5 study guides comprising 15 modules.  Each module has an Assignment which is compulsory in order to write the Final Examination. The other wonderful certificate courses are for aromatherapy and medicinal herb growing certificate which entails interesting topics such as the cultivation and harvesting of herbs.
