At OBT we offer different bricklaying courses, whether you want to work as a bricklayer or simply just do it yourself at home. Although bricklaying is a specialized trade, training for it does not take ages!
Basic course content:

Pre trade test course content:
-Arch Construction
-Setting out from plans
-Use and care of Hand Tools

-Building in of window frames and Door frames
-Use of different bonds
-Read Drawings and Technical Terms
-Prepare a bill of Material required

Whether you have been plastering for years or have no plastering experience at all we can teach you! If you have been plastering for a long time but want to get qualified we can do that too. We offer different levels of plastering courses to suit your specific needs.
Basic course content:
-To prepare surfaces before plastering using bonding plaster and finishing plaster, ensuring a flat finished surface ready for decorating.
-To apply PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces.
-Health and Safety
-To skim walls
-To cut and fix plaster board to walls and ceilings
-To skim Ceilings
-To cut and fix angle beads around windows and reveals
-To mix plastering materials
-To tape standard and internal joints
Advanced course content:
-Plastering reveals – internal and external
-Plastering around wall sockets
-Bonding out
-Cutting and seating beads
-Applying PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces
-Repairing damaged plaster
-Skimming walls
-Internal Angle Trowel techniques
-Skimming Ceilings
Pre trade test course content:
-Learning to apply and finish walls, ceilings and columns
-Read Drawings and Technical Terms
-Prepare a bill of material required
-Screeding and finishing of floors
-Safety
-Use and care of Hand Tools
-Handling and properties of Materials
